What Is Enforcement Directorate?
The Directorate of Enforcement (ED) is a law implementation office and monetary insight organization answerable for authorizing financial laws and battling monetary wrongdoing in India.
It is important for the Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance, and Government Of India. It is made up of officials from the Indian Revenue Service, Indian Police Service, and the Indian Administrative Service just as advanced officials from its own unit.

In the year 1957, this Unit was renamed ‘Implementation Directorate’. Sanjay Kumar Mishra previous Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, New Delhi was named as ED boss in the position of Secretary to the Government of India.
Locations Of Enforcement Directorate
The Directorate of Enforcement, with its central command at New Delhi, is going by the Director of Enforcement. There are five provincial workplaces in Mumbai, Chennai, Chandigarh, Kolkata, and Delhi headed by Special Directors of Enforcement.
Zonal workplaces of the Directorate are at Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Chennai, Kochi, Delhi, Panaji, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jalandhar, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Patna, and Srinagar. These are going by a Joint Director.
The Directorate has sub-zonal workplaces at Bhubaneshwar, Kozhikode, Indore, Madurai, Nagpur, Allahabad, Raipur, Dehradun, Ranchi, Surat, Shimla, Vishakhapatnam, and Jammu which are going by a Deputy Director.
Working Of Enforcement Directorate
The great target of the Enforcement Directorate is the requirement of two key Acts of the Government of India specifically, the Foreign Exchange Management Act 1999 (FEMA) and the Prevention of Money Laundering Act 2002 (PMLA).
